My blood sugar drops like that but Ive never been that low before, usually when my sugar gets to low I wake up and I imediately eat something. I usually keep those sugar tablets in my room just for that reason. If I were you I would also talk to your endocrinologist about your nighttime insulin amount. I got diagnosed last year and at first I had to take 3 shots per day but then my doctor decided that I only really needed to take 2, one in the morning and one at night. I also try to eat a snack after I take my insulin at night just to make sure that my sugar wont drop too much. The most important thing is that you talk to your doctor though.

My blood sugar was doing that for over a month and I had no idea! It's really scarry :(
If it's happening everynight then there's probably something wrong with whatever long acting insulin ur using

I'd talk to your doctor. We can give you certain ways to deal with it, but the only thing that is going to help in the long wrong is checking with your doctor. You may need to adjust your insulin or maybe just eat more. Good luck!

It sounds like you might need to talk to your doctor about the insulin amounts you are injecting or brush up on your carb counting. There seems to be too much of something going on.

Check your bgs before you go to bed and see what they are if they are in the 80to 100 range you may want to eat something that will help keep you up during the night. If you have to use the restroom at all during the night check it and see what you are then and you should know if it works.

Eat or drink carbs!

For a low take 15 grams of carbs, wait 15 mins, test your Blood glucose numbers (BG#s). If you're not 70 to 80 at minimum, BG# then take another 15 grams, wait 15 mins and test again. Do it over again until your BG#s get into your target range.

Are you the person in a previous discussion who had a BG# of 500+ and then dropped to 42?
