I am an insulin dependent diabetic who is trying to get a jump start on loosing weight. A friend of mine has been using Sensa and has had great results with it as far as weight loss goes. I want to try it also but am researching to see if other insulin dependent diabetics have used this product and if so what kind of good or bad results have they had with it…thanks!!

I am insulin dependent and use Sensa. So far I have had no side effects…nor does the product work. I also tried Alli (dr. gave it to me) again nothing. Pefrsonally I am at wits ends over my weight.

Just wondering, is your friend who's trying the sensa also a diabetic? If not it's a reason for caution on your part

Also is this sold using a Multi Level Marketing (aka: "pyramid") sales program? Another "red flag" IMO

And looking at their website they say: —— "You can continue to eat all your favorite foods and still lose weight. Just sprinkle SENSA┬« onto your meals and snacks to safely and effectively lose weight without feeling deprived."——

It sounds too good to be true, especially for Diabetics. We cannot continue eating the way we used to eat and get good Blood Glucose numbers. If we continue to eat the way we used to, we are setting ourselves up for a myriad of complications.

I, myself wouldn't try it because it goes against good management of our condition, what is known to work to control our diabetes. You can excercise and change your eating habits to try to get the excess weight off, but this looks like a "magic bullet" product designed to separate your money from your pocket.

That's just my opinion.

BTW, are you aware of a sister site to Diabetic connect called Obesity Connect? look at the black band above and there are words in white "visit another community" click on that and then select "obesity" Use your DC handle and password to log in.

A lot of folks from DC are there too.

Blessings to you and yours

As someone who has tried many things to lose weight and recently found something that works - I would be very cautious about this product. It appears to be an appetite suppressant. If it does work, it may help you lose weight - but if you don't carefully balance your insulin intake - you could end up with serious lows if you don't eat enough.

After 10 years at practically the same weight - I've dropped 20 pounds in the last 6 months. I did it by calorie counting and increasing the intensity of my work outs. Before you try a drug solution - try writing down everything you eat and then adding up the calories. You may be surprised (as I was). I underestimated what I ate by quite a bit - especially when I ate out.
