You really need to talk to your parents and your doctor about adjusting your insulin routine, possibly discuss using an insulin pump. The research being done into diabetes complications seems to show that large swings like that are more responsible for complications than elevated blood sugar that doesn't really swing much.

That is a rough thing to face. I presume you had taken your insulin to drop it. Are you counting your carbs correctly to drop that far down? My worry would also be is there someone in school who knows what to do when you are getting that low. What did you do to climb out of that at school?

what had you done in the time between the 564 & the 42?

Good question. I'm T2 but I know T1 can be very sensitive to types of activity. Was she in gym class? 500+ is extremely high, is it not? Sounds like pass-out level. You tell me. I don't know. I was scared when my BG went up to almost 300. At 13, active is an understatement! And why the big sudden drop?

There's a lot of information which is missing. We are not told when this 564 reading was taken. She said it was her period 2 class, but we don't know how quickly she came down, or what she did to bring it down. That big of a drop is scarey!

500+ is getting up there. Blackouts from high could occur at that level, but my bride was over 600 and had no trouble (prednisone induced high)

Actually Diabetes is a very individual condition. What may cause one person to black out would not bother another
