My wife complains that I have bad breath. What causes bad breath when you have diabetes and how can I prevent bad breath.

Hi, i'm a dental hygenist. The fruity and nail polish replies are absolutely true. I would also be very concirned about periodontal disease. I have had several patients who begin to loose teeth pretty quickly. You really need to be a flosser. I always suggust Reach Gentle Gumcare Floss. Even if your not diabetic it is the best. Most floss is a single strand, like sewing thread. the gumcare is like yarn. Think of it as fishing with a pole or fishing with a net. You spend the same time and effort…but you catch more with a net

Ive heard that when your BS runs high, it can cause an overgrowth of bacteria because of your mouth being dry and contribute to bad breath. Also, do you have sinus problems and/or allergies? These are leading causes of bad breath because of post-nasal drip. Breath fresheners will not help in these cases-try a neti pot to clean out your sinuses daily. Good luck! :)
