I know,…I know…its VERY high. However, my last test was around 14 a year ago. I am working very hard to try and get this down. Went to the dr office yesterday and she says once I can get my sugars under better control, she thinks I would be a great canidate for the insulin pump. Especially because I have such a big appetite. (Always have. Im very tiny and you wouldnt be able to tell that I can eat more than my 220lb hubby…lol) It would be so much easier to just give a button a couple of pushes instead of having to poke myself 5+ times a day because of how often I eat. Bwtween using Diabetic Connect and Sugarstats, I think I am making a huge difference. I used to only test 1-3 times a day, and I am up to 8 or more times a day. I didnt take insulin until it was up above 300, and now I take it depending on my sliding scale from my Endo. I have also picked up a lot of books from the library about carb counting and such so that i can try to at least eat the same amount of carbs at each setting. I know 10.2 is VERY high, but I know for me myself, its a huge difference from 14! Hopefully in August, it will come down to at least a 6.0!

You made good progress. You did get a lower A1c. Plus you are trying to figure out how you might be able to get better control over your BG. You are well on your way to your August goal.

4 points is a very good start. It does take time for the body to repair itself and as long as you are improving in your diet and exercise, it will come down. Give yourself a break. And by the way, congratulations on your improvement. Keep it up.
