i was in the doc. office two days ago and i had a conversation with this nice old man. he asked me what do i use pill or needle. i looked at him like huh. and he told me that his wife was on the pill first then went to the needle now she's on both and he is worried the she will need part of her foot cut off. she told him that she is going to die happy. i start thinking how many others has said that and just don't do what they should do. please people i know some of you have to do both but think of the love ones your are hurting but not trying. my granddaughter tells me everyday grandma i don't wan't you to die. and she really make sure i take my meds. she is only five and fuss like she is grown you should see her puttinh her finger in my face i can't do nothing but laugh. she is my life line so please think of others before you just give up. i was angry too.until the day i allmost went out of here with spinal i listen to the birds and all that brings me joy. life is to short enjoy it all i dont like sticking my finger but i do it.

Well said, Shorty. I want to live to play with my grandchildren, which I don't have yet, see them graduate and get married… and have babies of their own.

I watched my Grandmother die from complications from Diabetes and My great Grandmother, too. I'm only 34 and my daughter is 10…I cannot imagine her or my husband's pain at losing me the same way and not tear up. I am going to do whatever it takes to never let them go through that. God is going to take me to heaven someday but it isn't going to be because I let Diabetes get a hold on me. I'm just not going out like that! I am newly diagnosed and not yet on any kind of injectibles (praying I won't need to be) but if I have to…I'm sure going to and I am going to stick with whatever I have to in order to live and feel well. If only I could control the stress?!? Or the insomnia?!? Time will help with that I suspect. We all have to do things we don't want to do…it's how we handle those situations that shows our strength of character in my mind. I'm gonna battle Diabetes ever step of the way for my family.

Hey nobody likes pricking our fingers several times a day, but Life is so worth it, really, things could be worse, and might possibly get that way if we don't take care of ourselves.

Hope for the very best to happen. I have personally benefited from a better tretment for venous stassis/reflux than was available for my Father.

stress is what you do to yourself . I saying is if you cant change it don't think about,
but if can change it and do nothing about it your not trying .

Like you, I almost went out. For me it was due to cellulites and MRSA. The birds sound very wonderful to me this year. Despite all that is still wrong in my life at this point there is much more that is right and full of joy and happiness. The tiny sting from testing is not going to stop me from trying to stay ahead of diabetes.

Yes, indeed. I am so glad I can still kick along with all of you, it could have turned out a lot differently last year. Each step is a miracle, also each breath. That awareness makes other difficult things easier.
