I had my blood work done today. I had a 5.7 on A1C. I'm now down to 1 pill a day and checking my sugars every other day. My biggest help was losing 26 llbs in weight and still working on it.

My A1c has been 5.3 the last 2 times…checked every 6 months.I lost 50 pounds ,but my Dr. still keeps me on 2 Metformin a day. Glucose stays from 101————-123..checked twice daily.Perhaps I should ask my doc about changing.Great to lose weight, isn't it.congrats

Drop some weight, work out daily (even 20 min), and eat healthy, so you can cut the meds maybe or at least not add more.

Good for you. I don't want to loose weight, all I want is my stupid count to come down. Hoping this site will help me.

The key for mine was to lose the weight. It's part of fat that hold your sugar longer. The more weight u lose the beter your numbers will be. Hope you don't mind me saying this. Have a good weekend.

Today I read an article that said omega fish oil will bring count up. I take omega 1000. What's you opinion about this.

My Dr. put me on 1000mg. Fish oil to lower my cholesterol. My A1C has stayed at 5.3&5.4 the last year. He just recently changed my BP meds and my resting glucose has gone up from 103-110 to 123. I'm not blaming the fish oil,but the new bp med.

This is interesting. Do you blame the fishoil for the raise? I sometimes wonder how a person feels with a low count of 5? I'm struggling trying to get it in 6.
