This year in my PCP's office they have implemented a new system where all the Drs & nurses carry a lap top computer into the exam rooms. With this they can change your file info in an instant. But the best thing I have liked so far is the feature that showed my Doc last Monday that the Motrin he wanted me to take for back pain I have right now, would counter act the methotrexate I'm on for RA. I know we've all experienced meds that would do this but it's been my experience that it's been the pharmacist that usually picked up on that. I'm so glad they are using this system now cause before the Pharmacist would then have to call the DR and then the Dr would have to figure out a different med sometimes playing phone tag for awhile before a successful combo would be found.
