I'm not sure if we will be able to make this one thou I'll have to check with my husband to see if we can. Are you from Des Moines or where about in Iowa are you. We live in Thompson clear up north only about 10 miles from the Minnesota border.

How do you find these types of events?

Look for a local diabetes association, your local chapter of united way probably supports them so try calling them if you can't find one, and join up. It's usually cheap and gives you access to a lot of local support and notifications of local activities.

We just went to a diabetes festival at Mason City on Sept. 30th. They have them once a year, and just found out that they are putting a diabetes center at the hospitals west center. This is very exciting for this area as we either have to go either down to Des Moines or up to the twin cities or Rochester.
