So tonight I went online to order some reservoirs for my insulin pump. We recently switched health insurance companies and now our coverage is just terrible. I wasn't able to order anything from edgepark.com because my insurance requires us to pay the deductible each order which is ridiculously high. I'm on my dad's employer insurance. I know, I'm very grateful and everything, it's just my family is having some major financial issues. (Who isn't?) My mom got recently laid off, I'm unable to work at the moment due to my diabetes and stroke, but I don't qualify for any help. It's just my dad's income right now. I may have to stop the insulin pump, and I'm very scared of going back to injecting. I was in DKA several times before I went on the pump.
I don't really know what to do or what I can do. I guess I'm just wondering how do people afford these high costs?? Or is there some where else I can get my supplies?
Anything will definitely help. Thank you. =]
