I tried to get my prescription for Avandia refilled and found out I can't get it anymore. Seems Avandia has been discontinued by the manufacturer. This has me concerned and flat out wondering how big of a mess I will end up in. Avandia is what put my diabetes under control. I have been on it for almost 2 1/2 years with no problems at all. Now I need to find out if I can control my diabetes without it or not. Plus, if I can't control my bgs without the Avandia, then what do I replace it with? I have tried Actos and did not do well on it. I don't want to do insulin because I hate having to poke myself and the thought of being dependent on daily injections just makes me cringe. Time to research other diabetes meds. Maybe if I know what my options are, it won't be so bad if I have to start a new med. Of course, I might just be able to get away with a small increase in the glyburide and metformin I am already taking. Alot to think about.
