Alright here's what happened to me the other day, and I am curious to know if anyone else has ever had this happen to them. I had an appointment with my doctor at 2:40, so upon leaving the office, I got into my car, with the intentions of going to get sonmething to eat. The next thing I know, there is a man knocking on my window, saying, "Mam, it's 5:30." I was confused for a minute, I thought I had missed my appointment. Then I realized, I saw the doctor. I have sleep apnea, too. I am glad I didn't go get anything to eat, I could have put many lives at risk. Maybe, God just wanted me to sleep, so I would spare people. Friday, was a blur to me, even now- I don't remember everything. Is this from diabetes, has anyone ever experienced this before?? In sleep apnea, you aren't confused, your body just takes over, and you go to sleep. This is wild, and scary. Does anyone or has anyone experienced this before??

did you have a sleep study? My husband did & before the night they gave him a cpap mask. he uses it everynight & takes it on trips, scanning through the airports can be annoying but they seem use to it.

It really helped him. I made him get it, he use to get such horrible nightmares, we couldn't stay in a hotel without him screaming. Heck, we went on a cruise as long as I could get the one room between the galley & the elevator so we had no neighbors.

The mask should make a world of difference for you, it did him.
Best wishes

my doctor gave me a meter right there in the office. Call your pharmacy and if you have insurance ask them what strips are covered by your insurance so you get the right meter. I am completely amazed you have not been given one. I carry mine every where with extra batteries and supplies all in its carrying pouch that is wallet size. I am so glad you are alright! What a scare! If that office still had people there I would have walked back in!

I used to have sleep apnea. I was lucky. Weight loss took care of it, but I sleep with a humidifier now. Please be careful, I think you need to report this to your doctor.

I've had sleep apnea for more than ten years and have never had anything close to what you described. I agree with others - your doctor should be informed asap so you can get the help you need.

Girl, I am glad that you weren't driving!! Maybe your sugar was low. Be sure to tell your doctor what happened, and don't wait until your next appointment, do it now!! Take care.

Did you check your bloodsugar? I usually pass out if my blood sugar gets too low. And right before I pass out, I get VERY confused and can not concentrate on what I am/was doing. I cant even hold a conversation with someone when my sugar drops like that.

Thank you, this is so new to me. I just remember I was going to leave and get something to eat. From that point on, nothing comes to me. I am so glad angels were with me, I could have hurt someone. I have to get a meter to carry with me. I have just started experiencing the foot thing, numb, tingling, and feels like they do, when they go to sleep on you. The carpal tunnel, the shingles- it's been a rough year. Thank you.
