In writing a note to my friend I realized that I needed to change my meters times as well. If you are in a zone that changes time, please dont forget to update your meters too. This is also a good time to check and change batteries if needed.

why are you sigh'ing? Its changed, you should be dancing LOL. I never remember to change it. Last year I think it took me a month or so into the new time before I really noticed it LOL.

I simply realized that all those times that I so faithfully tracked was off, and mixed up some of my before and after meal readings, pretty much making the whole log meaningless. We are in the process of adjusting my treatment after starting insulin, so we know how much I should take, and how ofter I need to take it, so the readings are a little more crucial than they usually are.

How does one check batteries on a meter? I've not seen a function on any of mine which checks batt level. But thanks for the time change reminder, Cheryl!

On my meter, there is only a warning that the battery is about dead, but not a thing to tell me how much charge is left, other than that.

Mine did what jayabee's did, just went dead so now I check them once a year and sometimes change them if needed, thats not real often but it sure gives peace of mind =)

You are welcome James. I have a battery meter here at home that checks all my battery levels. There isnt anything on my meter either to tell me battery life, that would be a good thing actually dont you think? They have them on phones, why not meters too!

Hugs Cheryl

I have had meters for years w/o a batt change. They're on such a brief time and then shut off. It may be a nice bell & whistle, but IMO not that necessary.

Phones are a different issue. They're on, even in standby mode, almost 24 hrs, and when your on the phone, or online, the power usage goes way up and can drain a batt quickly.

The meter is mainly on and then off within a few seconds, so very little power drain.

That being so, and to each their own, but I have had a battery go dead on me once already so I like to check, its my own way though and I was ever so grateful that I was not traveling when it happened.

I was just throwing it out there. Have a Beautiful Weekend James ~ Cheryl
