Herpes and type 1 diabetes
I've been a type 1 diabetic for almost 17 years, and I just found out back in Feb. that I have the herpes. Does anyone know that if herpes can affect the blood sugar levels?

I already requested you as a friend.
Well, my BG has been pretty well. I've been checking constantly
Hi I am your same jposition. But I have had herpes for 12 years and diabetes for 1 and half years. I never thought about it affecting my numbers. Please request me as a friend if you want so we can talk if you want.
Herpes is an infection and like any other infection, yes it may in fact cause your BG to rise.
I really appreciate it James. This link is really helpful and informal.
From what I've read of the symptoms of herpes, and what I know of diabetes ("DM") I would say there's a good chance of it raising yout Blood glucose numbers ("BG#s"). It may not, as every person with diabetes is different. Here's a multipage website from the NIH on herpes: http://www.emedicinehealth.com/genital_herpes...
I pray you get it treated, and get it controlled.
Blessings to you and yours
James
