Wow. Thanks for the support. I don't know what gastroparesis is. How do you manage your diets. Have you talked to a nutritionist, I live in a tiny town in the middle of So. Calif, if you can imagine anything tiny about this area. I was looking online for a referral to a nutritionist when I came across this website. It's been so helpful just to know there are others like me. I'm still looking, the diabetis assn. hasn't been too hellpful, but I think that's because I am so isolated, but I'll keep looking. I wish you well.

Hi! I have gastroparesis caused by post polio. I'm not supposed to eat any thing with skins or fiber. So needles to say I have a hard time with my diabetic diet. Most things they say to eat are no no's for a diabetic. So what I'm saying is I know what you are going through.

Sorry to hear of your renal failure. Thank you for the info. It helped a lot. I thot we diabetics had mto eat fresh fruits @ veggies.

And I thought marrying a diabetic and renal diet is hard.

One thought, could you cook the veggies and either mash or puree them, (hospitals call this a "mechanical soft" diet) ask your medical team or RD about this.

The fruits are generally a no no for a diabetic diet. Seeds knock out the lower glycemic fruits like strawberries or blueberries.

You might need to drink more protein shakes.

Or juice your veggies to get their nutrients without having to digest them so hard.

These are just things which come to mind off the top of my head. (Before my disability because of renal failure, I was a Certified Nurse Aid, both in the hospital and in Home Health).

If I think of something else I'll come back here and post what I think.

God's Blessings to you and yours, lynmar!

Hi Lynmar. I'm not familiar with diverticulous and some familiar with acid reflux, but as a combination…no idea. You may want to talk to a nutritionist to see what the best meal plan is for you that would also work with being diabetic.

HI. Wendy. I've been looking for a nutritionist, that's how I came across this website. There are no nutritionists in my area, but I have a couple of referrals, so I'll keep looking.

We know one Diet is Diabetic…Whats the reasons behind what you are telling us about the other foods? Can not give advise without a clear picture of what is going on. What was told to you by your doctor?

I have diverticulous and acid reflux. My stomach dr. gave me two lists of foods I cannot eat, including fresh veggies and fresh fruit.*
