Why is it so much easier to make a bad habit than a good one? I heard it only takes two weeks to make a habit. It is like we don't even think of the bad habit while it's being made. But, when we try to create a good habit, we try so darn hard we give up before it's a good habit. Sheesh!
One of my bad addictions is eating at night while watching TV. CRUNCHIES! :O

I made a recipe from your 21 day guide. Parmesan Baked Chicken Breasts…delicio! Eat to much as usual. It was so good I couldn't help myself! Bad Habits are hard to break. I quit smoking years ago. It was much easier than trying to control my bad-eating-habits. After consuming to much dinner, we started a movie. Guess what? CRUNCHIES! hehe But hey, I did do a good habit, I had a cup of herbal tea. One of my goals is to drink herbal tea instead of crunchies while TV. As a result: Good habit…Yay! Pat yourself on the back woman!

LOL,…you are NOT alone! Not only do I do it alll night while watching t.v, but I also get up in the middle of the night to eat! I try to just lay back down and go to sleep, but then my tummy starts growling and I feel sooo hungry I just get up and go to the fridge! It happens at least 4 times outta the week and sometimes I do it more than once a night! I think as diabetics, on insulin, I was told we have a faster running metabolism because of the insulin being a hormone. Did you also know insulinis made from pigs fat? Ugh! lol. (Well, at least mine is) So yes, I was told that the insulin makes us hungry much more and more often than some non-diabetics. I guess if you have an issue with weight, you can always throw insome exercise as well. I hear it sometimes reduces cravings. I dont really exercise much as I have a rare heart condition where my heart sometimes beats up to 4x faster than it should. For no apparent reason. It sometimes happens when Im sleeping…or just sitting down. Any who…Hope this helps ya in being that your NOT alone:)

Pig fat…gross! Lol :D I'm not doing insulin shots. Yet, that is. I've been struggling with mild depression for awhile. It sure doesn't help with my eating troubles. My family depresses me most. They are not good supporters, they're selfish. I've had to back away from them, and I am sure that does not help my depression. I feel like I am grieving all the time. Anywho, when I'm down, I eat.
A couple of years ago I had a procedure called catheter ablation done to my heart. It was do to an extra pathway in my ventricles and the atria. I would get VERY fast atria beats. I would just be separating laundry, working in the yard, just plan standing sometimes did it. My heart beat was so fast it quivered. So, they put a monitor on me and discovered I had this problem. Since the procedure, I have had no palpatations. Maybe you could ask your doc about this. :)
I do feel alone sometimes. Thank goodness for my husband and kids or I would alone. Sad isn't it? Thank you for caring, and I hope we can talk more often. Take care of yourself. :)

You might want to use a behavior modification trick my ex (a teacher) used to use. When you complete a day of the good habit you desire, put a gold star on the calendar. Decide what two weeks (or longer) will purchase you as a treat for being good. If you miss a day the 2 weeks starts over again.

I like treats! I will try this behavior-method. I don't have any gold stars though. I have a little orange sharpie! I'll use that. Orange is a cheerful color, therefore, will make cheerful-orange-stars. I will let you know how I do. I am not good at tests but I will do my best. Thank you jayabee! Peace!

Orange is my favorite color. I'm working on loosing weight. I love to cook so if I do well for the month I make something like a pumpkin bread or some other treat. I also slice it & freeze some of it.

YOU SET THE RULES.

By my rules I would have to start over. because I didn't get done what I wanted to do, or avoid what I was trying to avoid. I

BTW: if you don't mind me asking, what bad habit are you trying to change?. Do you have a desired good habit you want to establish in its place? (no need to answer here, but if you do, you get someone to hold you accountable to get it done - Ppl will ask you "how is it going?" )

Change may come easier if you have a goal to shoot for.

I pray you get done whatever it is you intend.

My goal is to not eat at night while watching TV…Bad Habit. Good Habit…would be to not do that anylonger. My morning BS is always high because of it.

are you SURE about that? Take your BG#s before you go to bed. If they're in your "target range" and you wake with high BG#s, then the "Dawn Phenemon" might be at work. If you're high before you go to bed, then you're prob. right.

Your so right! I think the key is to not give up! When we stumble we just have to get up brush ourselfs off and keep trying! Sometimes we stumble and then give up after. We just have to keep on trying! Good luck! :) and God bless!

I stumble often…hehe. Therefore, I am trying once again to make good habits.
As a youngtser, I was conditioned to munching. We had a big snack drawer in the kitchen for the taking any time we wanted to. Little did I know, this would become one of my many bad habits to come. Poopy…
