I have noticed that artificial sweeteners don't taste as bad as they used to. I still remember how bad the aftertaste was before I was diagnosed, but as soon as I started taking medication for it, the "diet" foods tasted better. Now artificial sweeteners don't have any bad aftertaste. |

My RD told me that salt and sugar dull the tastes buds and when you go off both, your taste buds return. That's been true for me too. |

I don't think our taste buds change, but our mind changes.

when I was told I had to cut salt pretty much out of my diet, I pretty much did. Now, I have no taste for slaty foods like olives, chips, etc. I feel like I licked a salt block. Same with chocolate. I have gone so long with out eating it, that if I do, I feel sickly. Our tastes do change. That is why when you get old, you like certain foods over others. Your sweet tasts go last.Figures! |
